ACSA announces Iowa Snowdrifters as the 2018 Club of the Year

At the 50th International Snowmobile Congress, the Iowa Snowdrifters from Coralville, Iowa were named the ACSA Club of the Year. Since it’s inception in the early 1970’s, the Snowdrifters have been developing and maintaining local snowmobile trails.
The Club attends and participates in events from club meetings to state association functions to local events like the Big Town Showdown Truck and Tractor Pull. They have a committee that works on the tractor pull that requires lots of volunteer hours and manpower and serves as a fundraiser. The last event had over 1,700 attendees and raised over $14,000 which helps fund trail maintenance equipment.
They also partner with organizations like the Corp of Engineers and Friends of Coralville. These partnerships have resulted in projects for the local area that are not snowmobile related, such as walking trails and wild prairie restorations.
The Snowdrifters pride themselves on looking outside of the box to come up with events and fundraisers that give back to the community as well as introduce non-snowmobilers that the club is not just for snowmobilers, but a club that has a positive impact on the community.
“The Iowa Snowdrifters are leading the way in introducing non-snowmobilers to the sport as well as encouraging youth involvement” according to Club President Bill Hogan. “I look forward to see where our club goes next”.
