ACSA announces the 2018 Snowmobiler of the Year

At the 50th International Snowmobile Congress, Arlyn Baumgarten from Kenosha, Wisconsin was named the ACSA Snowmobiler of the Year. Baumgarten has been an active snowmobiler for many years.
Baumgarten has been an active member of the Prairie Riders Snowmobile Club and the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs, serving in many positions at the club level, county level and state level. He was just appointed to serve on the governor’s Snowmobile Recreation Council. He is constantly sharing information to promote membership, meeting attendance and fundraising.
Baumgarten has been actively involved in all phases of snowmobiling. He helps secure landowner permission, he marks and maintains trails and serves on the planning committee. He also has been instrumental in fundraising, from collecting prizes for raffles to selling tickets. Baumgarten has also been very helpful in charity fundraisers through the years.
Believing the youth are our future, Baumgarten has been a supporter of the Kids and Adults On Snow since it’s inception. He has been known to recruit youth to become involved and serve in leadership positions. He has also helped the youth in many capacities, from floats in local parades to funding.
“Arlyn represents all that is the best in our sport”, said Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs President Dave Newman. “He works tirelessly for the clubs, counties and the AWSC. He knows what work needs to be done and does it, never expecting credit. His satisfaction is knowing the work is done – and done right.”
