Submit your feedback on National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations

The US Forest Service (USFS) has proposed changes to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations. NEPA guides how the USFS makes decisions and requires the agency to conduct Environmental Impact Statements or Environmental Analyses to measure the impact of proposed policies or actions on the immediate environment.

The review process is lengthy and has created a backlog of projects. The proposed changes are an effort to streamline the decision making through Categorical Exclusions that would be available.

If you did not have the chance to participate in the NEPA Webinars that were held, you can find the information and other background information: www.snowmobilers.org/docs/NEPARuleFactSheet.pdf .

The deadline has been extended to August 26th!
